Candidates for veneers
Dr. Suri examines your mouth to detect conditions that need to be resolved before moving forward with elective treatment. Your mouth must be healthy before veneers are placed. You may also wish to bleach your teeth before treatment, because the shade of restorations cannot be altered after they are placed. The dentist will work with you to develop a treatment plan.
In some cases, alternatives to veneers may be recommended; for example, decay may be treated with restorative procedures such as porcelain crowns.

Porcelain veneers
You may prefer porcelain due to its lifelike appearance. About half a millimeter of enamel must be removed to make room for the veneer. This procedure is completed in a couple of appointments. As an indirect restoration, the veneer is created in a lab. After your tooth is prepared and the permanent veneer is completed, you will return to Frisco Elm Dental so the veneer is fitted and bonded.
Composite veneers
As direct restorations, resin veneers are applied, shaped, and bonded to your tooth by Dr. Suri. While no tooth structure is removed to accommodate the resin veneer, this alternative generally appears more opaque than its porcelain counterpart.
